My kids are always begging for an after dinner treat. I understand that feeling, because I like treats too! I’m trying to limit sugar before bed for obvious reasons, yet give them something that will fill their little bellies. I have found the perfect thing: Dark chocolate dipped peanut butter banana bites! This is a great treat to get the kids involved with making. Make a few, and they will be gone!
Have your kids slice bananas up into thin slices and carefully spread pb on a slice. Stack another banana slice on top to make a sandwich. Continue doing this until you have a few sandwiches. Freeze for about 10 minutes while you melt the chocolate. We used microwavable dark bark but lots of things will work. White, milk, or dark chocolate is super yummy for this recipe. Once the chocolate is thinned up and smooth, carefully cover each banana sandwich. I only had a little chocolate this time, so I only covered the tops.
Continue to cover each sandwich with chocolate. Freeze bananas on a tray or plate for 20-30 minutes. Take them out and try not to eat the entire plate! These will make great post swimming or post sports snacks too. Fun for a play date or any occasion! Not a fan of peanut butter? Try almond butter or nutella spread in the middle. You could even do just single slices of bananas dipped in chocolate. Lots of possibilities.

This is such a fun and easy dessert. I know my kids would really love it, but I don’t know if I would want to share!

These look yummy. I think I’d have to put nutella instead of PB in the middle to get my kids to eat it. But then I think they’d wolf them down. What a fun treat! Thanks for sharing with Small Victories Sunday Linkup. Pinning to our linkup board and hope you found some great posts to visit this week!
