There are a lot of Mommy Bloggers out there. But you know, Dads have a lot of charming things to say about raising kids, as well. Here are some awesome Dad Bloggers I’ve come across lately. They are funny, honest and committed to enjoying this crazy ride of being a parent. You might want to encourage your kids’ Dad to follow these guys for a little humor and fellow Dad-identification.
First up: Beau Coffron / Lunchboxdad / @lunchboxdad
He was recently published on Huffington Post, sharing clever lunch box notes. (He has been published on a lot of high profile sites.) He strives to make life a little easier for parents through product reviews and fun lunches for his kids.
Blog Bio: I’m just a Dad Blogger who creates special lunches for my daughter every week. The goal is for the lunch to be made out of common stuff from the fridge, be semi-healthy, and of course help her to feel feel special every Monday as she starts a new week at school!
Next up is Writing Pad Dad. Justin Knight writes about his parenting perspective as a teacher, “short-order cook” and aspiring novelist. He can also be found on Twitter.
Some of his most popular articles have been featured on other websites. Here’s a sample article about staying in a hotel with your kids. Made me laugh.
And next… ThatPooreBaby.com Dad blog. Very funny! An excerpt from his blog bio: The primary focus of the That Poore Baby Dad Blog is to document the journey of having a baby from a father’s point of view. While mothers get a lot of credit raising kids, and rightly so, the goal of this blog is to show that dads have a lot to offer as well. The approach of the blog is to use humor to tackle the entire process: the good, the bad and the ugly of raising children.
There’s another great one that I discovered awhile ago…Life of a New Dad…but he actually stopped blogging a couple of years ago when they had twin girls. When he found out the twins were on the way (they already had a son) he wrote this (I loved it): I promise to do everything in my power to be the best Dad that I can for these two angels. I will learn to like pink. I will learn to play with dolls. I will learn to love ribbons, bows, dresses, and closets full of shoes. As I understand the father/daughter relationship, I probably won’t have any power to resist anyway.
Then he wrote a Twin Girls To-Do List that I found fantastically entertaining. Read it!
And this Top 10 List for Dads – soooo funny! Worth sharing.
Dads have a lot to say, and their perspective is great to hear. I’m sure there are other great Dad bloggers out there. Let us know if there’s someone else we should be following!
