Easter is a big candy holiday. Yes, it’s fun to eat candy and my kids eat plenty. Every now and then we need to cut back a little. Just like Halloween and Valentines, I try and look for candy alternatives for the big day. I’ve compiled a list of things I’ve done in the past and will do again this year.
Easter Egg Candy Alternatives:
*Coupons (going to a new park, ice cream treat one day, Redbox movie night, just some ideas)*Lottery Tickets?! (I’ve never done this but might this year!)
We certainly will have some candy eggs, just not all of them! What do you put in your eggs?

I love the puzzle piece idea! That sounds like a fun way to courage more family time!!!

My favorite is the coupons! Kids can trade them in for a redbox or an ice cream/snow cone out. It’s fun is easy to make!

Great idea to switch out the candy for other things. My mum used to do that too. I would love finding the eggs with the money!!

Money is a huge hit with the kids! My daughter likes that the best!!

We always did a great variety of things like stickers, little piñata-style small toys, money, and of course some candy too… after all, a candy or two won’t hurt any kid! Great ideas Shannon!

I love the idea of skipping the candy. Egg hunting made fun and healthier. In other words: perfect!

Ohhhhh – I LOVE the puzzle and Lego piece ideas!! I was just thinking about this yesterday – what to put inside the eggs as we always do stickers. This is perfect!

I hadn’t even thought of stickers! Great idea. We won’t be doing candy either so I’m in love with this post!
Shannon says
Good! We do some candy, but not much!

What a terrific list! I will admit I’m a sucker for buying delicious local chocolates but I like a mix of candy and non-candy treats. Thanks for sharing this post, pinning for next year!
Shannon says
Thanks Katie! I love chocolate too! Our kids do get some candy, but I have found they like these fun non candy treats too 🙂

Fun ideas. We have a big family hunt every year and my Aunt puts lottery scratch off tickets in some of the eggs for the adult hunt.
Shannon says
So fun!! Good luck, hope you win some big $$!!

These are some great ideas, thank you! I’m hosting an Easter Egg hunt for a bunch of toddlers next week who really can’t have candy, so this has helped me with some alternatives!

Oh fun!! These are perfect for toddlers 🙂
