School is back in session and this Mommy Teacher is tired! There’s just something about the first weeks of school that you forget about over the summer. It’s exhausting! I have so many teacher friends that have been staying at school until 7 and 7:30 trying to get things done. It’s crazy! The beginning of the year is hard! I’ve been trying to make myself go to bed earlier and/or rest when my kids go to bed. Yes my house is messy and dishes are piled in the sink, but my feet hurt and I’m tired! So I’m curious, how much sleep do you get?
Every time I hear research about the recommended amount of sleep it seems to change a few months later. I’ve always been BIG on my babies getting sleep. I always had friends say their kids were giving up naps early on like at 2 and I thought that was insane! I know I’ve been blessed with 2 kids that sleep pretty good but I LOVE nap time 🙂 Naps are super important.
Here’s a table I found online. Do you follow this? I’d say we do except my almost 7 year old does not get 10-11 hours. I’d love for her to. Her school starts super early- 7:45. She has to BE in her seat at 7:45. That means she gets dropped off around 7:25-7:30 and she’s up around 6:30 (school days only!) To get a full 10 hours that means she’d have to be ASLEEP by 8:30. Some nights it does happen but most nights she’s in bed at 8:30 and asleep by 9.
Myself, I know I need at least 7 hours of sleep. 8 would be best and 9
would be really great but that’s not going to happen for awhile! Lately
I’m so tired that I fall right asleep once my head hits my pillow! I
really envy people that don’t need much sleep at all. I know they can
get so much done and still feel great! Not me, I have to have sleep!
This e-card is my thoughts exactly 🙂 So how much sleep can you survive on?? TGIF. Hope you can catch up on some sleep this weekend!
