The school year is in full swing now and we’ve almost made it to the holidays! Not only am I a Mom to kids in school, but I’m also a teacher. I’ve taught school the last 16 years but this is my very first year teaching preschool. Surviving the school year as a teacher can be difficult! You have to take care of yourself so that you can make it the entire year. Here are some things I’m doing to survive and thrive this school year.
SLEEP: Sleep is the best, when you get it, right? I really wish I didn’t have to have much sleep but I’m learning that I do need sleep. It’s important for a better me. If I don’t get enough sleep I’m tired and grumpy and not the best Mommy. I need at least 7 hours but 8 is better. 8 hours can be hard but I’m learning to leave things and go to bed.
WATER: Water, water, water. Feel tired? Drink some water! Hungry? You could be dehydrated! I love ice cold water and I always have a cup with me when I’m teaching. I also drink water with meals. I feel better when I’m drinking more water too.
TAKE VITAMINS: My kids take vitamins but after stopping prenatal, I never really got in the habit again of taking vitamins. While shopping at Walmart, I discovered Nature Made products. Nature Made® is the #1 Pharmacist Recommended brand for many key dietary supplement categories*. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the prices were at Walmart. I stocked up on great Nature Made® products without having to wait for a good sale!
I love that I can pick up these items when I’m shopping at my Walmart and know that I’m getting an every day low price. The adult gummies taste great and I love the fast dissolving energy tablets. I keep them in my kitchen and take them every morning. I feel better taking my vitamins. I know I’m doing something good for myself and I’m more prepared to tackle the school year!
What are your tips on surviving the school year?
