In Texas we like to put our Texas name on everything. We have Texas brownies, Texas toast, and many more! (Even if it’s not from Texas, we like to think it is!) Texas even has it’s own caviar. It’s nothing fancy but it sure is flavorful and makes for a great appetizer or side for your Texas ribs or Texas burgers!
I hope you are ready to do some chopping. Texas caviar takes some time to chop everything up but it sure is worth it!
TEXAS Caviar:
1 can of black beans (rinsed)
1 can of whole corn (rinsed, or fresh corn is great too)
1/2 red onion, chopped
1 carton of cherry tomatoes (sliced up)
1 head of cilantro, chopped
splash of lemon juice
garlic powder (if desired)
salt to taste
Your favorite Texas tortilla chips
Wash/drain your beans and corn. Begin chopping up onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. Combine everything in a bowl. Add in your lemon, garlic powder, and salt to taste. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Stir up and serve with your favorite Texas corn chips!

This sounds like it would be really good on grilled chicken, too!

Yes! That would be good too. I love that this is even better a few days later when the flavors really set together. It’s yummy 🙂

Looks interesting! I’ve not yet tried anything like this but am going to give it a go!

It’s really good with summer BBQ foods like hamburgers or hot dogs! It makes a good dip or side dish 🙂
