Lots of people do New Years goals. I have lots of them too. I try to stick to them as best as I can. One thing I’m really working on is drinking water. Several months ago I blogged about giving up caffeine. You can read all about it here. Since then I’ve been doing great and still keeping it up. I am totally my one a day Diet Dr. Pepper! I occasionally will drink iced tea or a real coke but it’s very minimal.
I’m trying to hit a total 80 oz of water (or more) a day. The key is to be drinking even when I’m not thirsty. I could go hours and hours without drinking (especially in the afternoons when I’m busy with the kids). The 80 oz goal may sound easy but it’s really something you have to think about! Luckily I found this great water holder that measures about 70 oz. I’ve been filling it up and drinking from it throughout the day. If we go out to eat I used to love getting tea. Most restaurants have great tea. Not anymore. I’m a water with lemon drinker now. Some important water drinking times are first thing in the morning (no coffee or diet drinks for me) and drinking before meals. This fills you up. Yes, at first you will pee all day long. After a few days your body does get used to it. I haven’t noticed anything spectacular with skin results but I have read several blogs about how skin can take dramatic for the better changes.
Sometimes cold water tastes sooooo good. And sometimes it’s pretty boring! I have found a few things to make it less boring and really get those last few oz of water in! The Mio Fit Grape is one of my favorites. The Mio drinks have zero calories. They are great for an after workout drink. I use mine in the afternoon time when I’m starting to get a little tired. It’s a great pick me up!
There are also so great recipes for fun ways to spice of your water regimen that I have pinned on Pinterest as well. One easy favorite it try adding lemon to your water. I came across this sheet that shows 15 reasons you should be drinking lemon water every morning. Lots of good benefits! The best morning lemon drink is to do warm lemon water. I’m not into warm drinks at all so I do a chilled water/lemon. I take it into the bathroom and drink it while I’m getting ready for work.
I’d better get back to drinking more water!!

I don't usually add stuff to water, but lately I've been on a Chick-fil-a diet lemonade kick! I need to just add lemon to my own water! Thanks for stopping by my link party!
