*Boys are Loud: There is no quiet time at our house unless he’s asleep. Boys are just loud! Screaming with madness or happiness. Calling out our names. The hours he is awake, it’s loud!
*Boy Toys: With little boys come a new set of toys. Legos, cars, trucks.. I’m constantly stepping on random pieces of legos or blocks! He loves to build a tower (or have me build one) then he knocks it down. I never thought I’d be the one on the floor making car noises and saying “beep beep” but I’m right there doing it!
*Boys are Rough: Boys are more active. They are always climbing, jumping, or standing on furniture! Grabby hands and hitting happens a lot at my house. I’m constantly saying “Gentle touches” or “No hitting your sister!”ย See this lawnmower? He is always trying to run us over with it! This thing rams into the back of my feet and legs all afternoon!
*A boys favorite Person is his Mom: This is true in my house! I was really worried about having a boy after having my daughter. I didn’t think I could love anything as much. As soon as that little boy was handed over to me I melted. There’s just something about a little boy and his Mom. Even though it took mine a little longer to say Momma, it’s definitely his favorite word!

Nothing prepared me for the sweetness of a boy. I thought girls were just perfect and I really secretly wanted another girl UNTIL that sweet baby boy was put in my arms. My heart melted. Even though he was NOT an easy baby in the infant stages I love him more than I ever thought possible. He stole my heart. I’m officially a BOY MOM ๐

SO TRUE! I call my son my "sweet and sour boy." There are times he is driving me crazy with how rough he can be (especially with his sister), but then he'll run and give me hugs, or say "Show me a smile" when I seem upset. I wouldn't trade him for anything!

I never wanted to have a son. My first baby was a daughter and I was thrilled. My second was a boy. I was disappointed for about .3 seconds. ๐ Now I have FIVE boys and three girls. I love every minute with my boys. I never knew sons would be so much fun. They're awesome and all those other things you said – loud, busy, dirty.

A mom of 3 boys, I can totally to relate to all of this! I was always a tomboy as a kid so being a boy mom is perfectly suited to me. There is a special bond between boys and their moms and I am lucky to have it times 3. Great post!

So so so true! This guy is either incredibly happy and laughing his hiney off or really, really mad and boy do you hear about it. But, even through the nonstop racket, I hear “I love you, Mommy” so many times a day. I had wanted another girl at first too, but I couldn’t imagine life without all of the things you mentioned!
