Have you ever heard of the National 4-H Council and Wellness Program? As a Mom to a pre-teen daughter, I was very interested to hear that it’s a program for young adults just like her.
One of my main goals as a Mom is to teach my kids to make healthy choices for themselves for foods, activities, and their lifestyle. This can get really challenging with the world around us and influences around my kids. I’m glad to hear about an amazing program like this.
The National 4-H Council and Wellness 360 Program
Supported by Target and driven by 4-H teen leaders, the overall program is designed to empower and engage young people to lead their peers to develop lifelong healthy habits. This will include everything from nutrition education, cooking classes, and wellness classes. How awesome would it be for your teen to be able to shop and cook healthy meals for your family! I know this would be great for me.
Here’s a video to learn more about the program and what it has to offer.
What’s also great is that they are learning how to have a healthy lifestyle but they are also learning how to share their knowledge and wisdom with family and friends. What a powerful support as this makes the teens the teachers! Teens are more likely to listen to their peers too so this is a great idea. Imagine that over time this will take these teens and build life-long learners to prepare them for the future.
I really love the valuable resources the teens are gaining to help them. These are skills they are going to need and will really use later on in life. They are also creating healthy habits for families and communities for later on.
