Nightly Christmas Book Tradition

I started a new tradition this year that I’ve always wanted to do with some of my favorite Christmas books. I spent a few minutes (and $1 store wrapping paper!) and wrapped up 7-9 of our fun Christmas books. This would be our new nightly Christmas book tradition.

I showed the kids the presents (they were going nuts!) and explained they were books. I told them that each night they would get to take turns and choose a present to open (one of the books) and we’d read it together that night. I have so many books from my elementary teaching days and some where gifted to my kids from family. I wrapped each one up when the kids were taking a bath one night and it was so easy!

We started this with a week and a few days before Christmas so even if you don’t do it this year then plan on it for next year! You can get great books at the book fair, Half-Price Books, or even garage sales. I’m including some of our favorites below! Even if you only have 3 books, wrap them and start this tradition. I’m hoping this will be a yearly thing and keep the spirit and excitement of Christmas alive with my kids.

A sweet tradition to start with your kids
