Have you heard about Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas? We had a chance to go last week as a family and we had a day full of so much fun!
This post is sponsored by Epic Waters of Grand Prairie.
Epic Waters is the largest indoor waterpark in all of North America that opened in January of 2018. It’s open year-round (including holidays!) thanks to a retractable roof and climate-controlled interior. We were told the temperature is around 85 degrees inside. The day we went it was around 50 degrees in Dallas and raining. It was so cold and windy so walking in it was amazing. It felt like a tropical paradise! We couldn’t wait to get into our suits. The kids were going crazy to get wet.
As soon as we got our wrist bands, we got changed and got ready to play all day. Since my daughter is older (age 11) she was able to do most of everything. She’s really into water slides so she took over and I didn’t really see her much until she was hungry.
Speaking of hungry… kids always get hungry when they are water parks right? The good news is that Epic Waters has you covered with food. You are not allowed to bring in food and drinks but they have plenty of eateries inside and the food is very well priced plus it’s really good! We all shared pizza and it was yummy! They also had an adult beverage area that looked really nice as well. I was busy with my 5-year-old the entire time but for those of you that can partake in that, just know they do serve adult drinks!
After lunch, we decided to hit up the arcade. Yes, they have an awesome arcade inside the waterpark!! This was another huge hit for my youngest. This is a great place to go if your kids need/want a little water break. They have so many cool games.
Here’s some more info on the slides Epic Waters has.
For the Littles: They have so much to do! My little man is 5, almost 6 and he had an absolute blast! He was busy the entire time and did not want to stop.
They have a wonderful area for little kids called Rascal’s Round-Up. It was his favorite place to be. It was a wading pool, it had slides for the littles, sprinklers, squirters, areas to climb, and a 300-gallon tipping bucket! Oh my did he have fun here!
For the older kids and adults:
They have so many great slides including the LassoLoop, the tallest kind in the nation, being 70 feet high!!! My husband did this one and loved it! A YellowJacket Drop, where you get to ride on a tube, and finishes with a zero-gravity drop. This was a big-time favorite of my daughter. Another was the Aquanaut that is an innertube inclosed slide. These were all very cool to see inside, especially when you first walked in!
They also have this super cool FlowRider, a surfing simulator. I didn’t get a chance to watch my daughter try this but she did try! She said it was pretty hard to stay standing up!
I loved hanging out in the lazy river with my 5-year-old too! It was super fun just riding in some floats and splashing one another. Epic Waters is getting a 10,000 sq ft wave pool that is due to open in May that will be outside. We saw them working on it and it will be so nice once everything is finished.
Can you see why we had so much fun? Literally, we had to drag the kids away. Neither one of the kids wanted to go. My youngest even cried, he did not want to leave so we promised him we’d come back again! The good news is that it’s only 45 minutes from our house so we don’t have to get a hotel room to have a day of fun. We can stay all day and then be at home at night.
Are you thinking about going to Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark? Here are some things to know before you go:
- Buy your tickets early! They only allow a certain amount of tickets sold each day (which is nice so it doesn’t get too crowded!!) but it does sell out. Plan out the day you want to go in advance and buy those tickets!!
- Parking is free
- NO Food OR drinks are allowed inside. This is nice so you don’t have to drag in anything but plan accordingly. I had my kids eat a big breakfast so they wouldn’t be starving right when we got there. Just something to know. Food prices are very reasonable.
- Alcoholic drinks are served inside for adults!
- Lockers are available to check out to store personal items.
- Free Wifi is available inside
- It’s about 85 degrees inside year round so be prepared!
- I would recommend water shoes for little kids.
- Life jackets are available for young kids for free. There were plenty all over the place.
- Lifeguards are everywhere. I found this very comforting. I noticed them and even saw how they were very ‘on duty’. they were very attentive and so watchful at all times.

When you do go be sure and check out the new Epic, which is a fabulous center that opened November 2018. It was unbelievable! It’s not just a recreation center but an entire area for beautiful arts, fitness, kids, classrooms, theatre, parties, entertainment, and more. I was blown away. It was not only beautiful inside but literally had everything you can think of (and things you’d never think of!!) It is a must see and place you want to come to visit.
