We’ve had our Lucky Dog for almost 2 years! He’s the best and my kids love him more than anything. Over these 2 years, we’ve discovered a few things that have made life easier for us that I wanted to share. Here are some of our favorite dog essentials that we have loved!

Lucky is a big dog, so a good harness for walking is necessary. Even if he wasn’t a big dog these easy walk harnesses are so great. I tried out probably 4 different kids in his first year and this has been my favorite. They are easy to put on and they don’t pull the dog by their necks which can cause harm or stress on the dog. I got ours on Amazon but most bigger pet stores should have them.
Slow Feed Dog Bowl
I know this contraption looks like a maze but it has been our saving grace. When we first got Lucky as a puppy we noticed he was eating so fast and not even really chewing his food. This slow feeder dog bowl was vet recommended and has really helped! Lucky is almost 2 years old and still eats with it.
If you are going to be gone for awhile filling this Kong up with peanut butter and a treat is so great. Just give this to your dog and he’ll be a happy camper. Whenever Lucky sees us get his Kong out he goes nuts!
Lucky LOVES him some good treats. We’ve actually taught him to get in his kennel (or crate) when we say “treat?”. It’s really cute. He’s a really good boy. His favorite treats are these Buddy Biscuits. They are made with all natural peanut butter! I usually buy them at Target.
There are so many brushes for dogs. You’ve probably seen infomercials too. This has by far been our best shedding brush for the 2 Labs I’ve had before. It’s not harsh on him and really gets the hair off.
We love our Lucky Dog to pieces. He is for sure a member of the family! It took us awhile to make sure our house was ready for a dog though. It took planning and lots of time considering. Now that we have him we can’t imagine life without him. We always like taking him for walks and giving him some good loving. I love that he loves my kids too.
