Reasons to do a Summer A/C Check-Up

Now that summer is fast approaching (with warm temperatures ahead!), it’s the perfect time to do a summer checkup on your air conditioning unit. In the summer when you run your air conditioning lot, it’s important to have it running up to speed.

Getting a checkup on your air unit shouldn’t be a hassle. The best time to do it is in late spring and early summer. Look for flyers in the mail for money saving coupons or specials on a tune up. Contact a local HVAC technician about coming out and doing a basic air maintenance on your unit. Calling before summer is a great idea so you can get a day and time you both agree on. During the summer time, technicians will be much busier.

Efficiency

In the off-season, items like leaves, branches, and other debris can get trapped in your air conditioning system and cause clogs. Getting a tune up will get your unit cleaned out and ensure everything is hooked up and running correctly. A dirty or clogged system has to work extra hard in to keep up with the rising temperatures outside. Having an efficient air unit will also help the environment and help to save money on your bills.

Prevention

Getting a checkup for your system now will save you time and money. Just like we go to the doctor for a checkup and to the dentist for regular cleanings, you want to get your unit checked before something major happens. A lot of times an air conditioning company will change your air filters for you. This is a great thing to do to prevent backup and dirty air being in your home. Getting a check up is easy to do and doesn’t take much of your time.

If you choose not to do a checkup and something should happen to your unit this can cost a huge amount of money. Getting repairs done is not something you want to do. It’s best to prevent anything. By spending a little bit of money right now, it will save you in the long run for a problem occurring down the road. It’s good to have a standing relationship with a local company that you trust. If they service you throughout the year for checkups then most will send coupons or discounts in the mail for your next tune up. Any savings is more money in your wallet.

When you are a homeowner, you might not know how important it is to get regular service for your big appliances like your air conditioning unit. By getting a biannual service you will be saving money and preventing bigger problems from happening. Over the years I’ve used a company for yearly checkups and service. Having someone come out a few times a year ends up saving us so much money in the dreadful heat filled summers when our air unit is running 24/7.

Get your air conditioner checked and you will be all ready for summer time!
