One of my favorites shows in the last year has been HGTV’s Fixer Upper. Have you ever watched? I’ve always been a fan of house hunting shows but this quickly became my favorite. If you have never watched (you must be under a rock!) the show is about a husband and wife team that take the worst home in the most beautiful neighborhood and transform it for a family. They make the homes so beautiful! Here are some reasons why you should be watching Fixer Upper!
Reasons Why You Should Be Watching Fixer Upper
*Family Oriented Show
This is one of the few shows on tv that you can watch with your whole family. It happens to be one of my daughter’s favorites (she’s 8). We love watching together and seeing the whole process. Chip is funny and Joanna is so talented!
The talent alone this couple shows is amazing. They are both extremely talented and really work together making it a beautiful home inside and out. Joanna is the designer/decorator and Chip is the builder/remodel-er. They have an amazing crew that helps make some furniture but they do most of the work themselves. The are very hands on and involved in the whole building process.
The show takes place in Waco, Texas. I lived there for 4 years while I went to Baylor. I love that they bring a positive light to Waco and to surrounding areas in Texas! (I’d still love the show even if they didn’t film in Waco though!) If you live anywhere close to Waco they have a beautiful store and soon to open a Bed and Breakfast. I can’t wait to go visit!
Joanna is a super Mom! She has 4 beautiful kids and she is a working Mom. (They also live on a cool farm!!) Their kids are involved in pretty much every episode. Fixer Upper shows real working Mom/Balance. A lot of times someone will have to leave and go get the kids from school. The kids will come visit and Chip will take them home while Joanna continues on the final touches of the house. She loves her kids to pieces (and you can tell) but she also shows true love for her work. She is such an inspiration!
And as if we didn’t love Joanna enough, here’s her beautiful testimony.
Fixer Upper comes on HGTV on Tuesday nights. Check your local listings for times. If you’ve missed some, check out HGTV on the weekends because they will replay some older episodes.
Do you have what it takes to take on a Fixer Upper??
