Sharing Jar for the New Year

The New Year is a great time to reflect and make some goals to better yourself. I’m all about making goals but like the idea of this sharing jar too! The sharing jar is a fun way to remember the last year in a positive way. Here’s all about how to make your own sharing jar.

In January start with an empty jar and some notes and pens. Tell the family that anytime something good happens like maybe a goal at the soccer game, an A on a really hard test, or no cavities at the dentist, write it on a sticky not and fold it up. Place it in the sharing jar.

When the year comes to an end, empty out the notes in the sharing jar and read them together as a family. Isn’t this such a fun idea? I saw it on Facebook and thought it was so easy and so fun. I found an empty jar with a lid and we always have tons of sticky notes and pens around. I found a good central location and explained how it work to the family.

The kids were so excited to get started!  This can be weekly or just whenever something good happens they want to share.

Remember all the good of 2017 by making this sharing jar. Write special events on sticky notes and open at the end of 2017

What special traditions will you start for the New Year?
