Smoothie Freezer Packs

Smoothie freezer packs will save you so much time and money by making some packs ahead of time. With just a little bit of prep time, you will have some frozen fruit ready for a smoothie whenever you want one!

My daughter is really into fruit smoothies. She’s a semi-picky eater so I’m thrilled that she likes smoothies. Now that she’s older I’ve taught her how to make smoothies herself. I don’t love her chopping up fruit herself (sharp knives and tweens!!) but that’s when these smoothie freezer packs come in handy. The hard work is already done. All she has to do is take out a bag and add in some yogurt and juice to the blender.

I really, really hate putting away groceries. It’s just one of those dreaded chores I guess. I’ll buy the food but I hate putting it away. So I make myself wash and chop after I grocery shop or it won’t get done. I take a few minutes after my grocery run and wash/dry everything to get them prepped for the freezer. I’m already up putting groceries away so I might as well do it all.

The best thing to do is make a little cutting station and get your fruit set up like an assembly line. I always do the following in a bag:

  • 1/2 banana (sliced up)
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • extras: raspberries, oranges, peaches

Now all I do divide everything into an individual baggie and pop them all into the freezer. I love adding blueberries because they act like ice (so does the banana slices!) and my daughter really likes it icey. These are great for after a sports work out or even for breakfast. She adds in some of her favorite greek yogurt and some juice. You can add milk but she’s not a milk drinker. Blend it all up for a few seconds to a minute and it’s great!
