Alright ladies, I confess. I don’t really like to workout. At all. Well, okay, that’s not totally true. I like it…but only WHILE I’m doing it. In between workouts, I default back to my inner lazy self and I don’t want to go do it. I have to give myself a giant pep talk each time I have an opportunity to go to the gym, and remind myself that I do actually feel great when I exercise. I feel stronger. More fit. More energetic. Proud of myself. When I’m on that treadmill, I feel glad that I’m there. I give it my all, and I know I’m going to feel good afterward. But because I’m NOT a gym rat who just loves, loves, loves it and can’t get enough…I often need fresh ideas to keep things interesting and motivating. You may have read my post about sprints for weight loss. Today I’ve got another simple, straightforward idea that might encourage you to get a little fitness in this week. And you can do this while watching Netflix at home!
I’m over those fitness magazine layouts with “12 Moves for a Better Butt” or “6 Exercises for Toned Thighs.” Okay, those are great instructions and worth your while, but I’m busy, impatient and really all I want is a short list of what to do real quick in between laundry and breastfeeding. I’m more likely to get the routine done if it’s short and sweet, and if I can do it without driving anywhere.
So here it is… The Perfect Fitness routine. Brought to you by Active.com, it’s a super simple routine to do as often as you can. Fit it into your day somewhere, and feel proud that you got it done. No instructions needed. No perfect poses required. No drive to the gym. And if it’s done 3 times (as they suggest), you’re sure to get your heart rate up and your muscles toned.
What’s your go-to workout? Is it something you love to do, or do you need a giant pep talk each time like I do??

I am a fitness nut. I run, lift weights and enjoy the overall change my body has had over the past several years. Sometimes I have to talk myself into going to the gym, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I do tabata workouts as well as just hit the weights because in the long run, muscle changes your body better than any long drawn out cardio.

On cold mornings I definitely argue with myself before actually going for a run and then after it I always feel great. I like your favourite pin – these types of exercise don’t take too long and you don’t have to think what to do. I also love yoga. Thanks for the opportunity to link up at #FoodandFitnessFriday
