Daily Momtivity promised you some “creativity” (that would be the “tivity” in “MOMtivity”) but I gotta admit, I just haven’t been feeling all that creative lately. It comes in cycles for me. I get all “Pinterest-y” and take on several crafts or DIY projects, and then I’m totally anti-craft and want nothing more than to keep things as simple as possible for awhile.
Today, I felt an urge to jump on Pinterest in search of ideas for a kids’ artwork display. I love to hang the kids’ art around the house, even if it sometimes make the house look a little…well, tacky. I have artwork on the back door, the window, the refrigerator…
I promise that I don’t save everything – but I try to show the kids how proud I am of their great work. Some things I hang onto for a few weeks, and then it goes into their memory box. Other items get a little “fridge time” and then go into the trash (when they’re not looking) to make room for new things.
For a long time I’ve wanted to create a special space in the house for their artwork. While perusing Pinterest this evening, I came across MANY ideas. Too many ideas! Here are the finalists…the ones I’ll consider doing one day soon!
This concept with the white ledges is super cute. It’s a big commitment…adding these ledges to your wall…but perhaps in later years they could be used for framed family photos. I like how easy it would be to place the art, and art of all shapes/sizes. Find it here: countryliving.com
I love this reclaimed wood clip board, also. I could imagine using decorative cute clothespins, or the silver clips you see in the picture. Find it at bornagain-creations.com. (Lots of other cute ideas there, as well.)
Finally, the most popular way to present children’s artwork (other than in picture frames) is the clothesline concept. There are a lot of cute samples of that on Pinterest. I like this one in particular because they chose to frame the entire thing, rather than just have a clothesline randomly floating on the wall. She actually used grosgrain ribbon…not a wood frame. I suppose you could also paint a frame shape around it. Very cute. Find it at pinkbuckaroodesigns.blogspot.com.
There were many cute ideas using colorful picture frames. I like the way those look, but I think right now I prefer to do something that allows for a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
I’ll do a follow-up post someday and let you know what I decided to do! How do you present your kids’ art? Do you photograph everything and make a photo book? Do you hang it in their bedrooms? Please share your ideas with us!

I love this. The boys make so many projects at daycare and they are really cute. I’ve been lining my hallway, but this is much nicer!
