December is flying by! By now you’ve started advent calendar, Elf on the Shelf and whatever other Christmas traditions you might have in your home. Here are some fun things to consider this season.
Are you like me, and you started off the school year with a cute love note/sticker in every lunch box…but now it’s just here or there as you remember or have time? I told my daughters that it’s more fun for a lunch box note to be a surprise, instead of expecting it every single day! Well, here’s my chance to deliver some lunch box fun again over the course of the last weeks of school before winter break. (Thank you, kristendukephotography.com.)
Also, some Elf on a Shelf-themed ones! He’s always watching, right?

Does Buddy the Elf visit your house each year? We haven’t started that tradition in our home, but I feel pressure to do so, out of concern that my kids will come home having heard about it and feel left out! I know it can be a challenge to come up with new and clever places for Buddy to appear each day, so here are some cute ideas!

The idea of a Christmas Eve box is to put together some fun things for the kids to open on Christmas Eve. Things that become a tradition each year, such as Christmas PJs and a new Christmas book. I saw a great idea today to include Santa’s Magic Key (It’s how he gets into houses that don’t have a chimney! Genius.)
As for my household, we have a cute Advent house with doors marked 1-25 for each day of December. The kids open one door each day (they take turns) and there is a small present inside. The door holes are very small, so last year it was mostly stickers, chocolates or hair clips. They were totally over it by December 10th. So this year, rather than try to find only things which fit inside these tiny doorways, I will leave a note inside that says where the presents are hidden that day. Nothing major…coloring books, treats, an inexpensive Christmas movie, socks….a lot of things from the Dollar Spot at Target!
Happy December, everyone! Have fun!
Nicole
