I can’t believe that Christmas is here. Are you totally done with all the shopping or are you scrambling at the last minute? I’m the worst at second guessing the gifts I bought. I always wonder if they will truly like it or should I have gone with the other idea. It can totally drive you MAD! Do you have family on your list that you don’t know what to get? Photos of your kids are always good ideas. Here is an easy photo tile gift idea that everyone is sure to love.
Photo tiles are so easy to make! The best part is, they are very budget friendly too. They make great gift ideas for anyone and not just for Christmas. These make great Mother’s Day or even Grandparent’s Day! They are small so they don’t take up much room and make a treasured keepsake item.
To make these you will need a white tile. I get mine at Home Depot or Lowes. You want something plain and not textured. White tiles should be around $1 depending on the size you are getting. I get them pretty small. You will also need a photo. I’m using one that I printed out so it’s a paper photo. You also will need some Mod Podge and any decorations or stickers you want for the tile. I got a pack of flowers in the scrapbook section of Hobby Lobby years ago and use them on so many things.
First you need to measure your picture to the tile size. Trim off any sides to make sure the picture will fit. Next, add a layer of Mod Podge to the tile. This will be like glue. Next set the photo on the tile where you want it and start adding a layer of mod podge on top. It will look sort of gray-ish when it’s wet. Carefully try and get out any bubbles that are between the photo and the tile. Let it dry for at least 1 hour. Add another layer of mod podge and let that dry also. Now you can add some adhesive or any glitter spray but it is not necessary. I used my hot glue gun and glued down the flower in the corner. Let dry completely. Add dates on the back and you’re done!
They turn out super cute! I try and one every year with our next Santa picture. I keep them on display during the holidays. I always make 2 of these and send the other one out for gifts. It doesn’t even have to be a Christmas gift. These would be great for Mother’s Day or a just because I love you gift!

Just a heads up – the tiles you’re linking to aren’t ceramic tiles, they’re heavy duty paper tiles for drawing on. I recognized them from another craft I do called Zententangle. Just thought you’d like to know. Cute idea though.
