Some of my most favorite memories growing up are Saturday mornings. I’d get up early, grab some cereal and then fight with my brother over who got to control the remote control! Not much has changed over the years with my family. My kids LOVE to eat Honey Nut Cheerios cereal and fight over what show is on the tv 🙂
This #HoneyNutCheerios #NuestroCereal Dia de los Niños campaign was sponsored by General Mills Big G Cereals through Acorn Influence. All opinions are mine.
Our family favorite cereal is Honey Nut Cheerios. It’s great dry and with milk too. The kids love it as a snack and sometimes I’ve been known to have it for dinner! Since we all love the cereal so much I thought it would be fun to all make some some yummy treats that include Honey Nut Cheerios cereal. One afternoon while shopping at Walmart, we got our supplies to make some kid friendly snacks. My daughter loves to help me in the kitchen. We can bake and spend time together talking about things going on in her world.
Honey Nut Protein Bars: My daughter and husband love protein cereal bars so I made my own version using Honey Nut Cheerios. They turned out great and would be a perfect snack!
- You Will Need: 3 cups of Honey Nut Cheerios, 1/2 cup of creamy PB, and 1/2 cup of honey. In a sauce pan heat up PB and honey until it’s thin and like a liquid form but don’t let it burn. Pour in the cheerios and carefully spread on wax paper.
- This is where a little helper can step in and use a spoon to spread out the mix. Pop into the fridge for 30 minutes then slice up into squares. Store in airtight container. Yum!
Honey Nut Cheerios PB Balls: One of our favorite snacks is my no bake energy balls. I decided to swap out the oatmeal and replace it with the Honey Nut Cheerios. It turned out great!
- You Will Need: 4 cups of Honey Nut Cheerios, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of lite corn syrup, and 1/2 cup of creamy PB. Dark Chocolate chips are optional. We used some! Heat your sugar and corn syrup and boil for 1 min. Then remove from heat and stir in PB until creamy. Add in your cheerios and then carefully drop on wax paper. Using your hands form some balls. Put in the fridge to harden for 30 min. Store in air tight container.
We had a great time prepping these fun snacks using our favorite cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios. I loved being able to make Saturday memories with my own kids. Want some more recipe ideas? You should try some of these! Next time I would omit some of the sugar or try and sub it with something else 🙂

These look yummy. When you said snack I thought you just meant putting them in a sandwich bag and nibbling (that’s what I do). I’ll have to give these a try

I really love cheerios! As an adult eat them less for breakfast and use them more as snacks! I love adding them to trail mix!

Perfect idea!
