Do you ever feel like Mary Poppins, with her amazing bag of treasures that seems to be never-ending? I don’t have a hat stand or a large umbrella in my purse, but I do have a lot of other random things that clearly demonstrate that I am a Mom of small children. It doesn’t matter if I’m using a cheap, everyday purse, or my nicer one. In both cases, it will be full of necessities and junk.
Today your two Daily Momtivity authors are revealing what’s in our purses. Take a picture of the inside of YOUR purse and tell us what unusual treasures are in there!
Nicole: I won’t bore you with every tiny detail of my purse – obviously I have the usual cell phone, wallet, etc… Here are the not-so-typical items (some not pictured, but I didn’t want to literally dump out my purse for fear that item #1 (listed below) would get all over my carpet.)
– Teddy Graham legs, heads and crumbs (from the bag I put in there that evidently wasn’t sealed well enough…)
– Overdue Strawberry Shortcake library book
– Crayons for restaurants that don’t provide them or only have those lame waxy ones that barely work.
– Germ X wipes AND antibacterial gel
– 3 or 4 grocery lists that I drafted but never actually referenced while in the store
– Hair bow and Tinkerbell bracelet
– Tylenol
– A bazillion receipts
– McDonald’s coupons
At a glance, my purse doesn’t really look like a grown-up’s purse, now does it? Surely this is the contents of my daughter’s purse?
Shannon: I will say that I cheated a little bit 🙂 I had just changed purses so mine wasn’t at it’s normal weird capacity. Nicole takes the cake on this one. One night we were having dinner and she started pulling out the most random things out of her purse! We were in the restaurant and she showed me library books in her purse. I said we had to do a post on this very thing. All the things Moms carry in their purses! My purse is pretty boring!
My purse includes:
wallet
hand sanitizer (I usually have 2 in each purse)
lipstick
chap stick (I’m addicted to chap stick. I ALWAYS have it!)
lipstick (I love lipstick shades!!)
some little doll character
tissues (to blow the snotty noses)
hair ties (because you never know when you’ll need a pony tail)
a pacifier (for emergency’s with the little boy)
Migraine Meds (I never know when a migraine is going to hit)
Gum/Candy. (My daughter tends to get car sick easily so I try to have gum or mints on hand for those not so fun times)
Evidently NickMom also realizes that the depths of a Mom’s purse is an interesting place to explore.
Cheers to being a Mom!

My purse isn't that exciting, but in my coat pocket I found a pacifier and "You're A Star" stickers stuck on a wooden tongue depressor from the pediatrician's office (our last appointment with the pediatrician was in December)…
