These mummy candy cans are so easy and fun to make. They make the perfect party favor gift or treat to give out to friends or teachers! I love being able to upcycle by using old soup cans too. Hosting a small party? You have to make these mummy cans for your party go-ers!

Mummy Candy Cans (A DIY Halloween Party Favor Idea)

First clean and dry your empty soup cans. I was very organized I made my favorite taco soup and reused my soup cans! I was very proud of myself!! This was a no-waste activity!! I made sure and totally removed the top.

Cut a strip of cheesecloth.  Begin wrapping it around the can but be sure and leave some gaps. You want the mummy eyes to show up! Put a small dot of glue to hold the cheesecloth in place around the middle section and at the bottom.  I also put some glue at the bottom as I was wrapping. This will keep the cheesecloth on and will make sure it won’t totally fall off! You can work with the cheesecloth to pull it in places you’d like.

Pull the cheesecloth apart and add the google eyes by securing them with glue. If the edges around the soup can are rough from the lid make sure you pull some of the cloth over the top to make sure no sharp edges are sticking out.

I love that there is really no wrong/right way to do this! Kids can totally get in on the fun and do it with you. Just watch out for any sharp edges at the tops of the cans.

Now comes the fun part! Fill your mummy candy can with all that you want! Candy, trinkets, pencils, spiders, there are so many good options for these!

We made our mummies for some special teachers! Easily drop in some gift cards and candy and it makes a great gift idea. Does your neighborhood participate in a BOO activity? This Mummy Candy Can would be so perfect and easy to do!
